Friday March 2 and one lil old lady cut.

No babysitter today....so I have to go to work for just one client who I couldn't move....but it's fine cause she's super sweet and a little old lady!  So I figured, nothing says little old lady haircut like some pleather pants!  Am I right?  Just nod and smile, ok?

So Lena Quist pleather pants.....and a new to me shirt that I picked up at the consignment store!  Basic black with some ruffles....comfy as heck and a good length for those leggings that may give you the ol'CT if you know what I mean!!

Ruffle shirt.....my bangly necklace with the charms that makes jingle bell noises when I walk.

And my black heeled boots!  My mom says "you sure look dressed up for one little old lady!" but she's probably just jealous that she doesn't have any pleather in her life.  It happens, I get it.

Friday for fricken fracken

Finally Friday for fricken fracken!!!  So this post is entirely Gillians.  Without her, it wouldn't have been possible.  Why?  Because she picked these leggings out at the consignment store and would follow me around shaking them in my face, begging me to try them on for a month or more.  And in the end, yeah, I totally dig 'em!!  The funny part is, I ADORE American Apparel and they have leggings the exact same right now!  Only theirs are $46.....mine were $5!

Soooo.....red velvet (more burgundy in real life) leggings.....

A long bangle necklace that makes all sorts of jingles when I walk and big hoop earrings.

Friday Feb 10...insert eye roll here

Now....I don't know how I keep falling off the wagon.  Things just get busy and I just get distracted....OH LOOK A SQUIRREL!!!!!!  Annnnddd.......I hope I can strive to do better.  In the meantime, here's Friday Feb 10!  Okay, don't roll your eyes at me!  In my defence, I did re-wear this outfit a second time last week cause I was going to post and be all "look how to date I am on my blog!" and then I accidentally forgot.

Okay so my favorite Lena Quist pleather pants...I've been trying not to wear them too much because I can't buy them anymore and if they wear out, I will DIE.  Le Chateau hand me down sweater in brown!  Really stepping outside of my comfort zone with that one!  Thanks, I knew you'd be proud.

Zeeeeee boots.....heels even!  At work!  GASP!  Yup, I'm multi-talented!  And just like, limp home at the end of the day...it's okay....fashion before comfort right?

Big bangley earrings.  These suckas fly around and are just the right weight.  They're like a copper brown with a hammered finish in black.

Okay....so as I've mentioned before....I've been working out.  My goal was to get a big booty shelf butt, but I don't think it's working yet.  *sigh*  Maybe one day......I just want some junk in the ol'trunk ya know??

Friday Jan 20th...hanging out between awkward and tits, not a good look.

Hey quick!  Look over there!!!!!!!!

It's Friday January 20th.  What?  Over there?  Oh, yeah, nothing really....I was just trying to distract you from the fact that I already missed Thursday this week and it's my first week back to posting.  Sigh.  One day I'm gonna be sooooo organized, just you wait!!!

So Friday!  Today I'm wearing....da da da daaaaaaa.....a dress!  The love of my life bought it for me for xmas....and now you're all thinking "waaaiiittt a minute.  How the hell does wine buy someone a dress?" and I'm sorry for this confusion, but sometimes when wine's not looking, I also give that title to my husband!

Don't mind my face.  This whole head in the shot is new fo rme....one day i'll get a real camera and hopefully won't look so odd.

So the dress came with the teeeeeeeeeeeny little rope type belt....which I don't mind, but the waist on the dress is realllllly high, even for my short stumpy body and it left the belt in the middle of awkward and tits so I swapped it out for a bigger one.  Which also works good cause the skirt is a bit see thru and you could see where my leggings were around my waist.

So....you can't really tell here but the skirt has a metallic fleck to it as well.  The strange things around my arms is a shrug that I wore for the day cause I'm always cold.....cold blood, cold hearted, cold nosed and all.

Oh my favourite Browns boots are looking sad.  So boots and socks up and over the knee.  I'm still obsessed with knee high socks or thigh high socks.  I think it's back to that cold thing!

And the earrings.  I was told these were picked ESPECIALLY for the dress, to mimic the dark lines through the skirt.  If you EVER need someone to help you put together an outfit, go see Joni at JJ's.  Honest.  She's amazing.  Every Christmas she makes all our husbands look like amazing fashion gurus when we open up our presents....and usually the presents are perfectly wrapped AND a surprise for our husbands too....win win!

Friday November 4th....I believe I can fly.

It's Friday.  Which feels like Saturday.....which feels like my week should be over....but no.  Sadly it's not.  Today, another score of a free shirt!  This shirt is a new fav actually.  It's amazing.  The fabric feels great on and it's a hint of see through and you can dress it up or down....and you don't even feel like you have to suck in your gut!  Win!

 I've also worn this shirt with a skirt in the summer.  I wore a bandeau bra underneath and pulled the top down so my shoulders were both exposed and tucked it into a little black mini skirt and wore a cute wide belt.  Super versatile.

The bat wings.  The material is so flowey though that they hang nice enough that they're not really obvious bat wings.

Tried to get a close up of the pattern and so you can see that it is sheer in some places.  Yes, that's my bra through it!  I know, i'm sooo out there.

So the moral of the story is.....if you're cleaning out your closet, or have stuff that you don't want/wear/need anymore, pass it on to me! 

Shannon and her Technicolor Dream Tunic!

This is my Friday Oct 21st and it's a sacred, holy event that could only be saved for a Sunday posting.  I.  Am.  Wearing.  Colour.  Lots of it.  And pattern.  And I didn't die, or get struck by lightening, or called names by little kids.  I did however feel.....odd...all day.  Like I was a glowing beacon or a giant neon sign.  So here's outfit in all it's magical Technicolour splendor.

OKAY so it's a tunic top from Bia Boro over some black leggings and some black suede over the knee boots....which are hard to see.

Friday Oct 14th- Free Boobing It

Okay so I'm lame!!!  I've been SOOOO busy and let my new favorite hobby down!  So here's my newest posting.....and let's all pretend it's Friday Oct 14th!!  The weather is nice....Gillian is getting ready for a long bus ride and I can't wear a bra.  Oh what's that?  The last part?  Oh, about the bra?  Ya no....I can't wear one.  Long story short, I've been a cow for 2 years.  Now my cow services are no longer wanted, my body is having a shit fit and making it really difficult for me.  I could describe in great detail the pain and gory description of my boobs at the moment but instead I'll say that I have about a week ahead of me of no bra.  So I'm working on outfits to hide the fact that I'm free-boobing it.  So here's braless outfit #1!!

Okay so we got....black tights.....grey long tank top and a nice flowey, bat wingy style top!!  My purple boots make another appearance as well!

So purple!

Jewellery is my favorite necklace and some feather earrings....

Et VOILA!  Nobody even notices the fact that I'm flopping all over!  Mission complete.

Exciting day today!!  We're getting spray tans after work!  I've never had one....and I'm REALLY white and pasty!  Like....creepy white.  So tomorrows blog posting will be full of pictures of me being all glorious and bronze!  But for today, I leave you with these.....Friday Oct 7th/2011.

Now these boots were the CHEAPEST boots at Zellers.  They actually are pretty comfy and are pretty cute.

NEW BLOG - Fashion Whore Named Shannon

Okay....so I'm creating a new blog.  It's going to follow my journey through the days by posting my outfit choices.  Now don't get any ideas that I have these super amazing outfits, but I love clothes and struggle every morning with what to wear based on how I'm feeling, the clients I have for the day etc etc.  I LOVE clothes and am constantly in thrift stores to help add to my wardrobe.  In high school, I was always that girl who dressed "weird".  I tried to make my outfits look like I didn't care about them, but they'd take me hours to put together.  Not much has changed!  I still take hours to get dressed some days!  Mostly I struggle with my position as "business owner" because I'm a hair dresser, so I can get away with more "out there" clothing, but I still should look like I own the place.  I also struggle with the fact that I'm now in my 30's and have 3 kids.  What does one wear when they're in their 30's?  I love the trendy trends but they probably work better on someone in their 20's...but I'm a stylist so can I push the boundaries?  But I own a business so should I not even attempt it?  See?  It's a big event every morning!

Please comment on outfit choices, does it work?  Doesn't it?  What's good about it?  What should be scrapped?  And once you are familiar with what's in my wardrobe, please help me by suggesting outfits for me to wear.  Maybe like once a week, or on Saturdays or something I'll let my readers dress me!  And I'll be sure to announce a thrift store find, but it's up to you to find what it is!!  So thanks in advance!

So this week, I'm back logged!  I got pics all week but didn't get a chance to post any!  So these aren't "real time" outfits, but unless you're coming to the shop, you probably wouldn't have noticed!  Also, by having my pics for the week taken, I notice that from day to day, not much really changes with my clothes!  Maybe this will be the most boring blog ever?  Okay.......outfit number 1! 

Friday September 30th

Okay so this isn't the best place to take a picture....but I liked it cause it cut my head off.  Seriously! Ha!  So now all you can focus on is the clothes and not my crazy fro. 

So I swore up, down and sideways that unless we somehow returned to 1986, I would NEVER wear leggings as pants.  Yet here I am.  And in my defence, these aren't like your typical "legging".  They are super thick and have all sorts of seams and are meant to be more "pants".  What year is it again??

So basic outfit....floral leggings pants, black bat wing style shirt, leg warmers (did I just type that??) and suede ankle boots.  I should start taking a separate pic of detail, like the pattern on the pants, and maybe of my jewellery?  I do actually spend alot of time thinking about what jewellery to wear.  Hmm.....
